ABOUT THE BURLINGTON FIBRE ARTS GUILD
Fibre art is our medium of artistic expression; it is an enjoyed and respected art form. We have the latitude to use many techniques to make our pieces come alive, to capture just the right mood we are looking for. Come join us and start something new, and allow it to tell your story! We have members who are versed in many techniques, such as sewing, quilting, felting, knitting, crocheting, painting, fusing, embellishing, beading, embroidery – and many others!
We meet bi-weekly in the Craft Studio, Burlington Art Gallery. The 1st Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM is stitch together night … bring your projects or ideas! Also, the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM is program night… be inspired by learning from a guest or in-house teacher, try techniques! We meet 10 months of the year, September through to June.
The cost for membership is $60.00 per calendar year, ($30 is for our guild, and $30 is for our studio fees to help pay for the utilities) in addition to the cost of becoming a member of the Art Gallery of Burlington (AGB). We are a member of Arts Burlington – an umbrella group consisting of 7 guilds that meet at the ABG. Members receive workshop, classes, and store discounts. You will have opportunities to volunteer, show and sell your work at the AGB and in our guild! We share and learn new skills – all members bring talent and energy! Come out to a meeting and enjoy good company and fibre fellowship! For more information, please contact Sandy Simmelink at 905-634-9831, or join us as a guest on one of these nights.
