To promote and develop Traditional Rug Hooking and other fibre arts.
To provide opportunities to exchange ideas and information.
To encourage excellence of craftsmanship.

To make connections with other rug hooking artists.

Facilities

The Guild has a spacious well-lit studio within the Create@717, a newly formed art hub at 717 Centre Road in Waterdown. This studio is wheel chair accessible and is equipped with ample work space, cutters, materials, library, etc. The studio is open for members seven days a week, from 8:30am to 10:30 pm, unless the space is booked for an event or class.

Meetings

General Meetings held in studio. These meeting may also include a guest speaker, demonstrations or an exchange of ideas.
Guild community gatherings on Tuesday evenings and Thursday afternoons
Executive meetings are held as required

The Guild is a branch of the Ontario Hooking Craft Guild (OHCG). Membership in the OHCG is open to all interested in traditional rug hooking. OHCG holds an Annual Meeting each spring in various cities throughout Ontario.
