I love beginning my paintings with a variety of paper (tissue paper, old letters, newspapers, photo transfers) to tell a story about the image that is painted on the top layer. I may add many layers of glaze over the painting to produce a rich depth.  The colours are intuitively chosen to describe the feelings I have for the image.  In this series I was inspired by nature, the power of the the changing seasons and the gentleness of fluttering wings; they are all fascinating to capture in a painting.
